Terms of use

Last updated: 1 January 2026. Trading name: Verso. Registered business name and NZBN: to be completed.

Placeholder for legal review. This page is a working structure written in plain English, not legal advice. Before you take payments, have a New Zealand lawyer check it against your actual business, in particular the licence terms, the liability section and the consumer law references. Replace every bracketed placeholder below.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Verso ("we", "us", "our"). Where these terms refer to "you", they mean anyone using this website or buying a product from it.

Placeholder: insert your registered business name, business structure, NZBN and contact address here.

2. Using this website

By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

You agree not to use this website in a way that breaks the law, interferes with anyone else's use of it, or attempts to gain access to parts of it that are not public.

3. What you are buying

Every product sold here is a digital file or a set of digital files. Buying a product gives you a licence to use those files. It does not transfer ownership of the design, the layout or any underlying work to you.

  • No physical item is produced, packed or posted.
  • There are no delivery charges and no shipping options.
  • You need suitable software to open and edit the files. The required software is listed on each product page, and it is your responsibility to check that you have it before buying.
  • Product previews are representations of the template. Colours and detail can vary between screens and printers.

4. Licence

Unless a product page says otherwise, each purchase grants one person a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual licence to:

  • open, edit and adapt the files;
  • use the resulting work for personal or commercial purposes, including work you produce for your own clients;
  • produce unlimited finished documents from the template, in print or digitally;
  • supply a finished, populated document to a client as a flattened file such as a PDF, or as a printed piece.

5. What the licence does not allow

You may not:

  • resell, sublicense, share, gift or otherwise distribute the template files, whether edited or unedited;
  • sell the template as a template, or as part of another template, kit, course or bundle;
  • upload the files to any file-sharing service, template marketplace, stock site or public repository;
  • give a client the editable template file so that they can reuse it independently, unless you have bought a licence that permits this;
  • claim authorship of the underlying template design;
  • use the files to create a product that competes directly with the product you bought.

If you need broader rights, such as a multi-user or agency licence, contact us before you buy.

6. Fonts and third-party assets

Font files are not included in downloads, because font licences cannot be passed on. Templates use freely licensed typefaces, and the read-me file in each download lists the fonts with links to where they can be obtained.

Any images, icons or third-party assets shown in previews are for display only and are not necessarily included in the download. What is included is listed on the product page.

7. Orders and payment

Prices are shown in New Zealand dollars.

Placeholder: state your GST position here once you have confirmed it with your accountant, and make sure it matches what your Stripe payment links actually charge.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe's own checkout and are not collected, stored or seen by this website. Stripe's terms and privacy policy apply to that part of the transaction.

An order is accepted when payment is confirmed by Stripe. We may decline or cancel an order, and refund it, if we believe it is fraudulent or breaches these terms.

8. Delivery and access

After payment clears, access instructions are emailed to the address used at checkout, usually within a few minutes. Download links remain active for 30 days.

It is your responsibility to give a working email address and to download and store the files. If a link expires before you have used it, contact us and we will issue a new one.

9. Refunds

Refunds for digital products are covered on the refund policy page, which forms part of these terms.

10. Consumer guarantees

Nothing in these terms is intended to limit or exclude any rights you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where those Acts apply to your purchase.

Placeholder for legal review. If you sell to businesses as well as consumers, the extent to which those Acts can be contracted out of differs. Have a lawyer set out the correct position for your business here.

11. Availability and changes

We may add, change, withdraw or reprice products at any time. A change in price does not affect an order that has already been paid for.

We aim to keep the website available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, hosting issues and events outside our control can all interrupt it.

We may update these terms. The version published on this page at the time of your purchase is the version that applies to that purchase.

12. Liability

Templates are supplied as design tools. They do not constitute legal, financial, tax or professional advice, and any wording included in a template is a starting point that you should review and adapt for your own circumstances.

Placeholder for legal review. A limitation of liability clause belongs here. Its wording, and how far it can go, depends on whether you are dealing with consumers or businesses. Have a lawyer draft it.

13. Intellectual property

All content on this website, including the templates, layouts, text and the Verso name and wordmark, remains our property or that of our licensors. Nothing on this site transfers those rights to you beyond the licence set out above.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

15. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@example.co.nz or through the contact page.
